I want an AI research assistant app called Marginalia that feels like a calm, editorial reading tool rather than a typical chatbot — warm stone-colored background, white message cards with hairline borders, dark ink text, and a single muted teal accent used only for citations and active states. Lay it out as two panes: the conversation on the left, where the assistant's answers render as real Markdown (headings, bold text, bullet lists, and a comparison table) sprinkled with small numbered citation chips like [1] and [2]; and a Sources panel on the right listing the cited documents with a title, one-line snippet, and a relevance bar, where clicking a citation chip scrolls to and highlights the matching source. Seed it with a realistic multi-turn thread about researching a community-owned renewable microgrid, so headings, lists, and a table are already rendering with citations wired to five or six sources. At the bottom, give me a composer with a textarea, a few suggested follow-up prompt chips, and a Quick / Balanced / Deep toggle that changes how long and thorough the next reply is. When I send a message, show a brief "thinking" state before a new contextual reply appears with its own sources, let me copy any answer with a toast confirmation, and give me a "New thread" button that resets the conversation. Keep the assistant's answer text in a serif typeface for readability while the rest of the interface stays sans-serif.
