Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about PromptUI — what it does, how it works, and how it compares.

What is PromptUI?

PromptUI is an AI-powered app builder. You describe what you want to build in plain English and PromptUI generates a complete, working React application — with multiple files, live preview, and one-click Vercel deployment — typically in under 60 seconds.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. PromptUI is designed for founders, designers, and non-technical builders. You describe what you want, and the AI writes every line of code. You can refine the app with follow-up prompts without touching the source.

How much does PromptUI cost?

PromptUI has four plans: Free (50 credits/month, no card required), Starter at $15/month (500 credits), Pro at $25/month (1,500 credits + GTM Brain), and Team at $40/month (4,000 credits + team workspace). Credits are consumed per build — roughly 5–25 credits depending on the model you choose.

Can I choose which AI model builds my app?

Yes. PromptUI gives you access to 11+ AI models including Claude Sonnet 4.6 (our default and recommended), Claude Opus 4.6, Grok 4.1 Fast, DeepSeek V3.2, Gemini 3 Flash, Kimi K2.5, and more. Each model has different speed, cost, and quality characteristics.

How long does it take to generate an app?

Most apps generate in 30–90 seconds. Simple landing pages or dashboards are typically done in under 30 seconds. Complex multi-page apps with data logic may take up to 2 minutes. Generation time also depends on which model you select.

What kinds of apps can I build?

PromptUI supports 30+ app categories: CRM, dashboards, e-commerce, fitness trackers, booking systems, restaurant apps, real estate listings, invoice generators, project management tools, kanban boards, healthcare portals, education platforms, and many more. If it's a standard React app pattern, PromptUI can build it.

Can I edit the generated code?

Yes. You can view all generated files in the file explorer, copy them, and edit them locally or in any code editor. Once deployed to Vercel, you can edit from the Vercel dashboard or clone the repo. The code belongs to you.

What happens if there are errors in the generated app?

PromptUI's pipeline includes a Validator agent (static analysis + AI review) and a Fixer agent that automatically retries up to 3 times on any flagged issues. Most build errors are resolved automatically. Guardian monitoring alerts you to runtime errors post-deploy via Sentry.

Can I deploy to Vercel?

Yes. Every plan includes one-click Vercel deployment. You connect your Vercel token in settings, and PromptUI deploys directly to your Vercel account. Custom domains work through Vercel's standard domain configuration.

What is GTM Brain?

GTM Brain is an AI go-to-market engine built into PromptUI. It generates brand profiles, campaign briefs, content calendars, hashtag strategies, and visual assets (carousel slides, story frames, reel storyboards) for your app. It's included in Pro and Team plans.

How is PromptUI different from Lovable?

PromptUI uses a multi-agent pipeline (Manager → Developer → Validator → Fixer → Deployer) rather than a single-model loop. Users choose their AI model at generation time. PromptUI also includes GTM Brain for go-to-market content — a capability not available in Lovable.

How is PromptUI different from Bolt.new?

Bolt uses a single AI model with a chat interface. PromptUI uses a multi-stage pipeline with specialist agents, supports 11 AI models, includes a built-in deploy flow, and adds GTM marketing tools for post-build go-to-market execution.

How is PromptUI different from v0 by Vercel?

v0 generates UI components and isolated code snippets. PromptUI generates complete, full-stack applications with routing, data, business logic, multiple pages, and deployment — not just component previews.

How is PromptUI different from Cursor?

Cursor is an AI-enhanced code editor for developers who already know how to code. PromptUI is an end-to-end app builder for non-technical builders and founders who want to go from idea to deployed app without writing code from scratch.

Can I share apps I build?

Yes. Every completed build gets a shareable public URL at /p/[id] with an auto-generated OG image. You can make apps public in the explore gallery or keep them private.

Do credits roll over?

Yes. Unused credits roll over each month up to 2× your plan limit (Starter), 3× (Pro), or 4× (Team). Credits purchased as top-ups never expire.

Is the generated code commercial-use allowed?

Yes. All generated code belongs to you. PromptUI imposes no restrictions on commercial use of apps you build.

What is the refine mode?

After generation, you can type follow-up instructions to iterate on your app — "add a dark mode toggle", "replace the chart with a table", "make the header sticky". Each refinement reuses the existing codebase and only changes what you describe.

Does PromptUI support Next.js apps?

Yes. PromptUI auto-detects whether your prompt needs a SPA (React) or a full Next.js app. Next.js builds use WebContainers for live preview and support multi-page routing, API routes, and server components.

How do I get started?

Go to promptui.co, sign in with Google or email, and type your first prompt. Free accounts get 50 credits — enough to build 3–10 apps depending on model. No credit card required.
